Devout Dirtbag
It Lives!

My local pick-up only ebay bargain. Must have been somebodies pride-and-joy in the past, as it's had lots of decent upgrades - found a CO2 canister down the seat tube, came with a set of Odyssey straddle rods and the original pump for the RS forks. Rear elastomers were shot, forks corroded to the point I didn't trust them, and a cracked seatpost, otherwise all in good condition. Dont' think it's moved for many years, until I picked it up.

Mostly XT group, SE brakes, ATI tomac grips cut very short, pair of Smokes with loads of tread left, Sun Chinook rims. No-name skewers and 'classic' bottle cage are the only sub-standard bits. Even has a Rock Ring.

Thanks to a few guys off here and ebay, new forks, saddle, seatpost and brake pads, and she's rolling again! All in price well under £100.

Thanks to the joys of seven-speed, a change of cable and the gears are perfect. Only thing left to do now is get the front brake working better.

Even has a one-piece Ti flexstem

And if anyone else has stuffed elastomers, landrover front suspension bumpers fit beaufully.

Not sure how much travel I'm getting - it feels very 'rear puncture', but it moves, and it's never going to be a match for longer travel systems.

All ready for a 90's flashback charity ride this month, then I need to decide whether it stays in the garage taking up space, or I break and sell the bits.
