The elastomers seem ok at first glance but ive noticed that there is a little bit of play when you lift the back end !! i.e As if the elastomers were a bit squashed and not taking up all the float !!

Need to have a good look in daylight. Apart from that it all looks pretty sweet

Your elastomers are probably sacked, as mine were. Check also if the screw is loose. You can put some rubber washers in to take up the slack, and grease the screw with synthetic grease. Petroleum based grease degrades the polyurethane.

Rapid Descent Scotland may have retrofit elastomers for your bike also.

If you are really interested Risse Racing makes a great air shock.

My second decent MTB was a 752 - bought second-hand as a frame & built up. Absolutely loved it! Got me into building MTBs big time.

seat elastomers - same stuff, same size hole for the bolt and look pretty good.

Am I the only one who thinks that this set-up will last for about 10 rides max?

No hinges, only some kind of rubber hinge at the bottom which will be even more stiff in the cold

Equals huge bending forces to the shock.

You can also burn your money....
