ProFlex 550 elastomer needed.

Re:

I'm getting an original 550 delivered over the next week or so. If it's the same size part as my 862, which I've replaced, I went to my local 'proper' Land Rover dealer and bought replacements. I think they were called bump stops (for shocks). They were about 80p each and work fine.

Did you fit a single unit or three as per the original spec? Are replacements elastomers, black and do they give a soft , medium or firm ride? Also what model Land Rover, year etc ?

Anyone have a link or info where to buy a 550 rear elastomer please?

either message or What’s app. He has a range of Elastomers for the 550 , been speaking To him today, he has 2” & 3“ of different hardness, just let him know your weight and if you are looking for rock hard suspension.
I am about to order a 3 inch medium for me. They are all the same price. 48€ including first class postage delivered to postage in Portugal. just be aware he only takes Pay Pal. I have owned my bike from new having purchased it from the original importer Ultrasport based in Nottingham in the late 80,s . I have the original handbook with the suspension drawing. The original suspension consists of a tube which connects below the seat and to the brace arm either side of the wheel. The original elastomers are in three pieces, which fit into the three yellow plastic cups.

I am going to have to cut single piece down into three, which I am told is easy to cut, the elastomers are only available in yellow. So I am going to reverse the original colour way from yellow cups with black elastomers to yellow elastomers with black cups. It should work. OK . I hope all this helps.
