Powder coating

Easy all,

Any ideas, how much does powder coating cost and where does it?
or is there a reasonable alternative?
Project in mind...

I had my KHS done recently and it cost £40. It looks brilliant I have to say, my friend took one look at it and had his gringo done. Just look in the yellow pages for powder coaters locally and ring a few for quotes and to ask if they'll do bike frames.

I paid £60 for all the parts of my Racelink to be done and it'll be £35 for my GT frame. Thats from a local place to me (Rossendale-Lancs)
Be aware though of letting the powder coaters shot blast the old paint/coating off your frame especially if its aluminium-I've seen a few on ebay that have had holes blown through tubing. Its safer to nitromorse it yourself and take it to them bare.

above statements are true...ask to see some finished results of other bike frames or get referrals.

Powdercoating tend to be cheaper than custom hand painting.

Gonna be taking my Voodoo over aerocoat soon for a new change of clothes as the standard paint is a bit brittle .

Will post some pics of how i get on .

Thanks,

I've just won another in-bred frame on ebay that i fancy giving a custom paint job.

I'm not sure weather to go for metal flake or a "flip" and should i send a set of new stickers with the frame so they can be given a clear coat?

cheers

Martin
