.....And a fine job you did too.

Thanks for the year Woody, knew it was early 90's. I remember blazing down off the top heading for the jump passing people on the way, thinking I should back off anytime now, but the adrenalin had kicked in and I took flight, nowadays I'd still be flat out up to the point where I'd lock the back wheel up, and roll gently up and over and carry on in one piece.

potm

Oh the bike by the way is a '91 Yeti ARC, I'd bought it on the Thursday and this race was on the Sunday, I'd gone from a superb, but fairly weighty, Zaskar, to this wippet like stead.....as you can see from the pic, it couldn't half flyyyyy

Ooops, just spotted "last post". Sorry.

1993 I think. Lovely wet August weather in theDales (Cam High Road?) an hour or so into a 60 mile epic.
Red Hardist custom bike, purple Pace top, fluro Fergies (exchanged last year at SITS) and Halo helmet band.

Great course that year, I was a little more conservative when I negotiated that ramp though...

Wish they'd put some jumps in on XC courses like they used to....boring nowadays.

Nice nose in action there :D

As I recall it was a ramp over a drystone wall. NEMBA courses always seemed to include a ramp over a drystone wall. There were a couple on the course at Lyme Park in 1992 which were about 8 foot tall, and included knotted ropes to help riders climb over with their bikes on their shoulders. Now that was a hell of a lap.
