What would be the best way to get a Montain bike sent from Seattle in the US to the UK?

Anyone got any idea of costs? The guy i'm chatting with has been quoted $800.
The guy has said he will get it boxed up for me in a proper box from a bike shop.

Mostly USPS is cheapest, 2 boxes and aroud 180USd (ish).

When he says a proper box from a bike shop. That wont cost as every shop i've know give the old boxes away if you ask.
Or is he going to buy a proper bike case/bag the type you use to take on holiday?

I had a member on here pick up and post a fat chance from seattle USA to scotland, he did it with 2 box's and I think it cost in the region of $220 dollars postage so $800 seems mental :shock:

Not sure what a complete bike will cost, but someone on here posted a frame which I bought on eBay from the US to the Netherlands for me for $50!
