Postal charges/rules etc What larks!

Here’s a Ritchey bar I’ve just sold.
If I put it in this massive box 61x42x42 it can travel 2nd class Royalmail medium parcel.
If I put it in a neat postal tube or skinny box that allows for its 66cm length it will be considered as a large parcel and have to go via Parcelforce at more than double the price.
Rather silly I think.

I roll bars in cardboard to form a tube like package and then send with Hermes if cheap (£10) or with Parceforce if more expensive. Cost is £3.50 - £5 usually. There is no cheaper/better method I’ve looked lots

You can send as a medium parcel if it's roughly tube shaped.

I send all my items RM, and that is why i stopped sending bars, i never thought to stick them in a big box though

I once packed a set of handlebars in diagonally in a large cardboard envelope in order to get them through RM weird restrictions and avoid the parcelforce tax. Like mk one, I no longer send bars after that experience.

I cut mine down to fit, buyers seem a bit annoyed about the self assembly though
