Possible match for Marin zolatone paint.

I might be clutching at straws as I havent seen the light grey zolatone for ages but does this stuff look anything like it?

Yes, although I don't know how magnified that image is. But the texture does resemble that.

Im interested in getting my Pine Mountain done. i resprayed it in volkwagen navy blue when I was about 15. What a wanaka?

Personally I wouldnt mind if it wasnt an exact match as long as it was close. If anyone wants to go in a run of resprayed Zolatone Marins lets get it together.

I emailed the guys you mentioned and got this reply..!

"I do not know of any paint that Zolatone has had called Zolatone 2000. I
have been selling Zolatone paint since 1993.A paint store could have
purchased different colors of Zolatone and made their own colors up and gave
it the Zolatone 2000 name. I don't believe our company ever had such
product.

Incidentally, the spot I work for imports multigyms from a factory in Taiwan that have a very similar paint job (with a sandy finish), but I would say a shade lighter than the 1990 bikes. If I ever get another old Marin in need of a respray I might ship it over to see how it goes.
