Please tell me this isn’t one of us…

It pains me …..

It’s like a guide on how to de-value a semi expensive frame

It’s not even a decent job.

It’s on the best colour which is hard to find.

Just like RSPCA ban people from owning animals for cruelty - this guy needs banning from touching bikes for cruelty to my eyes

I spoke to the chap turns out there's a shop that's offering this service due to call them tomorrow and find out if they realise that heating aluminum makes it very brittle

What's the problem? He could have used an A2Z disc adapter but this is a more permanent solution.

I was under the impression that reheating to the temps required to weld would compromise the structural integrity of the aluminium structure. This would make the frame very brittle and dangerous

seller confirmed not heat treated post welding (tempering)

Apart from the massacre which it looks like , or the fact it’s unsafe (heat treated 6061) or he’s ruined a aqua Zaskar ….. then there’s nothing wrong
Whats your thoughts on picking it up grinding off the weld and retreating?

You would need to solution heat treat then age harden. All with a risk, as you don't know what weld filler rod was used. The back brake, the one that needs the least power, so a rim brake would of been just fine.

Easier to just buy another Zaskar frame in my opinion.

As it’ll never be original and correct again

(I wouldn’t be bothered if it was a BB one as they ten a penny)
