hi all just hoping some of you clever guys can tell me something about what i just pulled out of a skip near work ( i did ask the permission of the house owner first!). all i know is it feels quite light (ish) and t is a fuji, whom i have never heard of, the rear mech is deore as are the shifters and levers, they actually look a lot newer than the bike and it has an altus front mech.

wether it is a pile of crap i dont know, the welding looks ok tho...

opinions and knowledge please!

even the trip computer on it powered up!!

big pics! well from what i know i thought fuji were newish, i was going to buy a full sus from them, well not them, ebay, and they seem to fetch quite good prices on ebay. not sure about yours but i was told fuji brand are quite good :)

lol! yes i am trying to sort the pics out what is the best way to upload so it shows well on the forums??

well if you got it for nowt you done well ;) it has deore mega 9 shifters and pos rear mech , well done fella :D :D :D

aha i now know 100% more than i did thanks, im thinking it might be a possible build for wet weather use i could do with a new hack! thank you.

Anyone got any idea on the rough age of the bike? i would like to know if it is retro or not!

I'm not sure about the age of yours, but Fuji do a lot of single speed/track bike stuff......lower end I think, but what do you want for nothing!!

You are a man after my own heart.......they call me stig at work and I don't have a problem with that

Brings back memories, bought my son a Fuji Tahoe SE in this colour for I think his 11th birthday, was equipped with 24 speed STX RC & Diacompe vee brakes & was a right little bargain from the lbs at the time. He's 21 in a couple of weeks so circa 1999 I would guess.

excellent cheers, this one has the brakes to back up what you say! lucky really i was walking to the shop on my break and i saw it in a skip, i walked up to the door and knocked and the kind lady said help yourself, i dont have any shame lol!

might try to pinpoint an exact year and put some era specific gear on it, does look like it could be a 99 tho cos it matches up to what you say! might do me as a hack until i can afford a nice retro frame, im riding an 08 claud butler at the minute and i just dont think it is me!

ooh cheers for the link bikepedia looks good!
That is the bike! it would seem i still have the original bar ends as well, the rear mech and levers and shifters have been changed along with the crank, although i think i may have some alivio rapidfire shifters in me box of bits, might dig em out and clean them up and put them on make it something like original, the frame is good and not bent or cracked.
I may even put an old stx rear mech on it i think the deore one on it looks naff in black against the "tangerine punch" of the frame, maybe a nice shiny stx would look better!

Although i dont think that 1998 makes it truly retro it will have to do me until something better turns up, i put some wheels on it this morning and it rides well, bit notchy in the steering but nothing new bearings wouldnt fix i hope! fits me well it states that its 20.5 inch and im 6'2"

overall im pleased with my new aquisition and think that i may get rid of the Hahanna i was going to build/resto and do this one for now, at least parts i get for this fuji will transfer onto the next frame i get! thanks everyone
