Please show us your powder coated bikes

How cheap is cheap though?
Someone I know has just payed £100 for coating, plus delivery each way and he says the job is not perfect!
I should see it on saturday so will know whether he is being super critical or not, but for £100 for powder I would want perfect. Am I asking too much?

The going rate for a strip and single coat seems to be around 70 quid and for that you should expect a good finish and in the painters thread there are plenty of good powdercoaters

Bonty on that frame alone I would not use oif..I'm not a fan of people taking money off me and then making it out they are doing you a favour and you should be happy.

They can indeed, Sparkly & Chrome all in one go:

Is that really chrome effect powder coat?

Looks very good in the pics. How is it up close?

It is indeed, I would try and get some other shots, but I don't think the sun will be out any time soon :x . I can say however, the finish is fantastic.

Yeah, I know. This is on a budget though, and I knew what to expect from prior experience!

RAL 2004
Done at shermaynes in Morecambe, think it was £45 for frame, fork and stem blast and powder, turnaround 1.5 days.

Let's revive this thread, since the options for powdercoating have increased in the last nine years.

This is the finish on my '93 Sbike. The previous owner had it coated and while it wouldn't hav been my first choice I do like the way the flake catches the light:

One of the most recent ones I had done was an experimental matt final coat over silver flake on a red background. It's very hard to capture the finish on a photo, but it certainly did interesting things with the way the colour looks, bringing out a much more raspberry hue.

I will be getting some components and at least one frame powdercoated in the new year, so I'm thinking about inspiration. The frame is currently vinyl wrapped to give it a stainless steel-like finish, so I'm undecided whether to go for a similar metallic finish or something else which will compliment the red components.
