Yesterday I acquired a nice late 70’s BSA... I think! One of the previous owners decided to spray it in 80s Ford Ghia light blue hiding the original paint and decals. It has an early Shimano 600 fitted (Arabesque) with a 5 speed Suntour freehub and a period suede Selle Italia saddle. Brakes are Shimano Tourney with matching levers but has tan Weinmann lever hoods. The wheelset are Weinmanns and a Silstar two piece crank. At first I presumed this was a late Tour De France model but the lack of a British Groupset confuses me a bit. I’d really like to restore it to its former glory as all the old decals are available to buy online if I choose to repaint. If anybody is knowledgable on these classic bikes and identifying them please help!
