All done . . . for now Pedals turned out ok - pins ideally needed replacing but were seized solid so I masked them off before spraying.
Bars had been cut down so are pretty narrow even for me I may swap them out for a wider flat set as the rise, tall head tube and long top tube makes it feel massive
Chain guide is just a simple DMR hinged clamp with a Black Spire roller. May get papadirt to 3D print me a bashguard once we're back in our US home.
I built up a Saracen xess last year and it's been amazing for the local pump tracks and skate parks.
It's also extremely short in the top tube (it's the only MTB frame I've ever experienced toe overlap on). If you're really struggling to find a short enough frame, might be worth giving one a go (Saracen did a million similar frames in the early 2000s, I doubt there's masses between them).
I've actually just made an offer on a little 24" Kona on the 'Bay I've owned a few in the past and to be fair they're far more suited to apartment living while we're in the UK. The Jack Flash was freakin' hard work lugging up the windy stairs
That's looking awesome! Just wanted to chime in, that stem looks on the longer side - have come across Azonic Shorty (and infinitely many clones of which) that would bring those bars a bit closer.. Good luck with the Kona
