I used to own one of those Girvin stems around 1996, cost me around £80 second hand and never stopped squeaking from the day I installed it! Lovely looking bike though.

Thanks ! I do not have squeaks on mine for now....Try white lithium grease if you come across any squeaky rubber bushings next time perhaps?? They lubricate rubber/ polyurethane bushes pretty well in most situations not just in Automotive context
