Plain gauge or double butted

I am still not convinced over the double butted. The rear 32h has never needing adjusting and it has had a hard use on and off road. As others have suggested it may be down to my riding style and weight (65kg).
The evidence of one particular wheel doesn't prove anything. PG spokes are no more likely to retain their original tension than DB. It's just a function of build quality. Or of course any given wheel could have been threadlocked, you wouldn't know until you took it to bits.

For its intended purpose I doubt you'll notice the difference between a 2.0 PG or a 2.0-xx-2.0 DB spoke.

PG will take more abuse from pedals, bits and bobs being rammed into them from the side. Though they still bend.
Using CRC for prices of DT spoke, currently
full wheel, 36 incl nipples
PG = £11
DB = £18

Yes it was Crc i was using for pricing. In answer to the question why not use a new rim. I was going to buy a new pair of rims and then a m231 came up on the forum. Probably should have left alone until a pair came up but....
Anyway I have decided to go with the plain gauge spokes.

Fluffy chicken summed up my thoughts." I doubt I will notice the difference." I am also a bit of a skeptic when it comes to mountain bike technology. Some changes in technology really make a difference to me and some things do but it is not worth the cost increase in my book. I know we are only talking £7 difference but it's the principle.

Hope that make sense. I was really interested to hear everyone's views.

Realistically, all things being equal, the PG, DB or the Alpine IIIs I suggested would likely all be fine for ages. But I don't see the sense in building a wheel for a cargo bike and using anything other than the most appropriate spokes for the sake of less than a tenner. It would probably have saved money it the long-run anyway, with a longer-lasting wheel.
Each to their own.
