Tough little alu hardtail I built up for a mate.
It's Brand-X frame (correctly IDed by cyfa - nice one Josh!) powdercoated then added parts from a Rockhopper donor bike (cheers Makster!) + a few bits & bobs from my stash.
New owner's boyfriend donated the crankset, rear mech and grips and she supplied the saddle from her old bike. Also I fitted her a new BB and chainstay protector.
Only thing I could fault the well rated frame for is its rear brake cable stops, hence temporary cable-ties! Hard for me to test ride at 6'3" but only thing it might need is a slightly shorter stem. Feels pretty nicely dialled in now...
brace yourself:
crankset from James, front mech from Retrobike:
DR logo by Jonathan Fisher, printed by Gil M:
CNC machined drop-outs & box-section rear triangle:
forks are plusher than expected (after a little spritz with the Brunox):
BIG thanks to Descaling Services & Sprayquick for great work on the frame (one of many I've had done by them)!
