In the '70s-'80s all Columbus tube set had spiral ribs in the steerer tube inside. This is one help to distinguish Columbus from Reynolds. (The other is the ovalization of the front fork tubes.)The fork shaft, indeed has the proper SLX ribs. But someone told me that this is no hint of actually being a SLX frame since SLX tubes with ribs were used on most forks
I think for the 80s, yes. Gavia has an another seat stay engraving type "pinarello", not"GPT".Is the bridgeless BB with the reinforcing triangles guaranteeing a Montello? Are there ANY other models, that carry that BB? Besides the very later early 90s Gavia with TSX tubes?
The Prestige is characterized by the hidden front and rear gear cable routing. But this is a another story... With interesting exceptions.I was always wondering if this could also be a Prestige - which I highly doubt so far.
Heres a 1988 or 1989 Pinarello Catalogue excerpt with color option. Mine would be the "Rosso Trasparenti Metallizzati":
