Like the previous poster said - don't get too hung up about pixel counts.
I have one of those. It's been going strong for seven years.
I can attest to the waterproofness. I was wading in knee-high seawater, stumbled and fell.
Drenched myself and the camera completely, but it was OK again once I had rinsed it off in the shower.
I still get a surprisingly useful amount of stuff from the tip - a UV filter, tripod, Skylight, leather bag (old school) and still find the odd film SLR.
Car boots are fantastic for SLR - I'm hunting Nikon lenses now.
