I had a fair number of Campag bits I had collected over the years, sitting around in boxes, come the day, someone will look at them, not realise their worth and chuck them in a skip ! I thought I’d make it into something they may recognise. I found a Pete Matthews 531SL frame for sale near me, bought it and made up a lovely bike. I need to put the tape on the bars, but no hurry, I’m only 77

No afraid not, I was never any good anyway, too tall, too heavy, wrong mindset ! Glad to say I am still riding though, I try to go out 2 or 3 times a week on a 25 - 30 mile route I quite like

Yes, it’s a lovely frame, it was secondhand and I’m afraid the wheels weren’t built by Pete, more like Pearsons or Tommy Quick, I’ve had them a long time !
