What do we know about their mountain bikes?

Picked this up at the York cycle rally interesting fully lugged with a Reynolds bottom bracket shell Columbus cyber mtb tubing, top tube cable routing, no cantilever bridge or rack/guard mounts, crudguard mounts on the downtube and a 1" headtube.

1993/4 ish then?

although.... no chainstay bridge and snakey stays so that serial number could actually be 1998

I thought what the hell so I've emailed Pennine Cycles just in case they know of anything

Nice frame! I once had a lime green Pennine cyclocross from a similar era. Doesn’t help much I know, but I guess shows they had an interest in off-road.

@retrobikeguy Did you ever hear back from Pennine Cycles? I reckon it's a 98 as I saw a post from someone who had 1980 road bike and the serial number started with an 80 read from left to right in the same orientation as your photo.
