Sorry they're not in order, Photobucket mixed them up for me and I haven't had time to get them sorted out, I'll get on it over the next week or so.

Great set of photos Martin. It was such a beautiful day.

...and no I can't spot the riders. Or the trail.

Mostly due to my time constraints we did the shorter loop, that is without the additional longer loop section.

It was a good place to ride although the slate was deadly slippery where it was wet. On the more exposed moorland sections where the sun had dried it out it was great. In the woods though, despite a few weeks of dry weather there was still a fair bit of water around, which made some sections like riding on ice. 20 year old tires probably didn't help much though.

Some of the downhill sections, particularly the final one, were a bit brutal on a fully rigid bike. All perfectly rideable but a good upper body battering nonetheless.

Even though it was a sunny Saturday, we didn't see many other riders out on the trail. The ones we did see were swiftly caught on the downhill sections and then closely followed until they realised it would be polite to shift over on their big bouncy nonsense bikes and let us through.

I reckon a return trip to take in the longer loop could well be in order.
