pencil it in ya'll 2017 peaks ride 15 october

Re:

I went walking today and our walk did the first part of your ride - up from cutthroat bridge to Derwent Edge and down to the reservoirs on the east side of fairholmes. The descent from derwent edge is very wet and muddy with lots of deep puddles. Will be an intense bike cleaning session afterwards.
Never tire of those views though and it was tee-shirt only in the sun.

Kean and I will stay at Laneside then on the Saturday night. Which pub will you be frequenting and where is The Great Monkey of Hope these days?

Most excellent news! I think the usual pub is the Old Hall - Mr. Crumb generally enjoys destroying their massive mixed grill I believe...

Looks like Kean and I will be bikepacking around Edale (probz Cooper's Farm/Nag's Head) on the Saturday night, so will endeavour to meet up with the ride on the Sunday through to your lunch stop. We'll peel off then and head back into Manchester. Will check in here for the route and timings nearer the day.

I'll be at Laneside Sat night in the T4, and will be eating in The Old Hall Sat Night. I'll ride over to the meet point from Hope on Sunday Morning.

Re:

Hopefully be there :)

First proper ride of the year for me and first ride over two miles since the start of Summer.

I could possibly be persuaded to do both... if anyone else fancies Saturday. Perhaps make that a Hope Valley based ride?

I'd need a slightly later start on Saturday though - maybe 12:30 or so?

Sounds perfect!
So long as it's not absolutely lashing down our rough plan is to arrive at Laneside Saturday morning, 'fast'* ride with you and Martin (Harry Crumb) on the Saturday, demolish the contents of the pub kitchen Saturday night - thus leaving little space for excessive ale - and be up and out to retro on Sunday morning...

It all sounds so simple

*pretty sure I'll be the weak link so however fast I can manage! Might even squeeze in a modern bike (or more likely use the not-quite-retro Silk both days, because it's the one that's actually working at the moment...)

I'd better try to negotiate a pass for Saturday too then. Need to be back home in the evening though, so no pub based activities for me. Not sure how 'fast' I'd be either...

Re:

Frames I'll bring if anyone's interested, dates are iirc

Trek 8900 1990 £80
Kona fire mountain 1990 £20
Kona cindercone 1995 £70
Raleigh mtrax 1994 £30

Still awaiting final confirmation but it's looking good for clearance from the boss.

Just having a scroll through the pages and can't see... meeting place and time?
