Pega Mixel free SLRs (and a rangefinder or two)

Just when you think us retrobike anoraks cant get any sadder, we do

Knock yourself out guys...............now do we have any beer mat collectors in the house

Beer Mats, yes I used to, had thousands of them, all sadly gone now along with many of the breweries that issued them

how about comics? i have a massive collection of 2000AD's from prog1!

still have an interest in photography but only as a keen amatuer.

Any idea where my girlfriend can get decent film Nikons? Links would be appreciated but not to thieving, lying buggers on Ebay.
Her Pentax fleet is knackered and I keep nagging her to buy gear that'll handle a battering.

Don't knock it, some of this stuff used to pay my wages. Not the Pentax 110, that would just be silly.

Whilst at home over Christmas I dug out my old slr. My father used to be a scientific photographer at warren springs and also for the geological survey. He has some nicer kit than my old ae1 laying around somewhere.

I had the cheaper AV1... great cameras though.

Dad's still got an ex press Nikon F. Some things just look better battered!

My dad had an AE-1 (but not the Program model that I think Jerky's got) and yeah, they were really solid cameras.

The Voigtlander Perkeo 6x6 folding roll film camera is my current fave. The coated colour Skopar four element lens is pin sharp and distortion free. No light meter so expose using sunny sixteen, no rangefinder so focusing using the depth of field scale and hyperfocal distances, it all helps to keep the principals of photography alive in your mind.
I've got a Zeiss Ikon Nettar which I haven't used in many years, but it's the same story -- educated guesswork when it comes to focusing and exposure. :)
