Peeling lacquer/clear coat

There’s a lot of discussion of using clear coat - eg the BTR site. They no longer offer it. It’s basically a nightmare of non-adherence. And spider trails, opaque patches are a curse with clear coat…sorry. But it’s a losing battle - I have nickel coated Oranges with clear coat and we just live with the inevitable imperfections. Patina….

2k Self etch clear lacquer is available from various paint manufacturers.

on cars we 2000 / 1500 wet sand
this removes the laquer but leaves the paint dull but it comes back using g3 compound an a buffer
