Palisades Trail '94

Re:

Loving this, really tidy looking bike has a similar kind of look as I was trying to get on my Chameleon. Looking forward to your next build!

You got some bargains there. I think one of the problems with lower end restorations is whether the end result is going to justify the costs. In this case, it certainly looks like you managed that issue very well indeed.

Re:

Thanks for the nice comments. Budget was tricky... Don't want to make a big loss if I was to sell on.

I think it was the best way to learn though. Feel much more confident now.

Didn't enjoy the spraying... A friend who restores motorbikes suggested powder coating but that would hide the great build / welding on these older frames.

Next time I'll need to find a local paint shop.

I've been thinking about doing a Specialized Stumpjumper M2. I haven't found the right frame just yet but I have my eyes out for it.

I have 3 Specialized Stumpjumper M2 frames:
1994, 1997, 1998 - want any?

The 1997 is a complete bike that was planning to sell these days. PM me if interested.

@OP, don't mean to hijack your thread.

Looks like an amazing job for £110. Imaguhow much more you’d have to pay in Halfords for something new of similar quality!

I’m with others on here. Go for an upscale Marin. I had a Pine Mountain (well, several Pine Mountains thanks to various accidents and some general thieving). Anything between 92 and 95 would be ace, I reckon.

For something similar, but idiosyncratically different, a nice steel Kona would be worth a shout. Again, something mid range up will make for a great bike without breaking the bank.

Plenty of Orange and GT frames about too...
