Folks - I need some advice!

I'm going to get a pair of Mag21 legs painted. Do I need to completely dismantle them to just the Mag bits, or will it be sufficient to remove the crown and let the painter mask the legs?

If they need taking apart, can someone direct me to a PDF of the service manual?

I'm presuming the RS oil for current forks (£15.99 bottle from CrC) works fine in Mag21s?

Just make sure the oil doesn't "Swell" the seals or you'll be looking for a rebuild kit. Haven't overhauled a RS Mag21 in a while, so I can't tell about the current RS Oil.

Some fork oils swell the seals and some don't.

Hey guy,

You also need to use a protective off gassing primer coat on the magnesium to keep your paint from separating from the base structure.
