Paint matching and buying

Does anyone know how to identify proper paint colours and were to buy in small amounts for touch ups thanks

I used an app on my phone called Colour Tool (do it in daylight), it got me almost perfectly to the right shade of black and a bit of t-cut blended it perfectly

Paint shop ask for them to spec* it.

Ok cheers that spetrometer would b and q have one don't have a paint shop ok scotts have you tried that on a paint job like a Klein were its got flake and stuff cheers

Sorry @baron von greenback it was on a bog standard early 1991 black Kona frame, for metallic you will probably need to have it spec'd at a car accident repair/ paint shop as novocaine suggested.. t-cut can work wonders on basic colours but not so much on the posher finishes like metallic
