Hejsan!

Here's a little project I thought I'd share with you good people. :D

A while back I picked up this old 10 speed from a charity store for 100 Kronor (about 7 quid).
It looked like a heap of junk so I ignored it for weeks then one day I got curious... I don't know much about road bikes being a mud dwelling creature but I noticed it had a complete Dura Ace groupset and felt really light so I had to buy it!

Everything was really rusty and crappy with a terrible metallic purple rattle can paint job. So I stripped it, cleaned it, painted it flat black and then finished it off with a spare saddle, new tyres and some red bar tape for a hot rod look (I'm into vintage drag racing too). I think it's an old Cresent from Sweden judging by the team orange I found under the purple.

The only thing it needs is a front mech (missing for some reason) and some 'Mr Horsepower' stickers!

Hej på dig ! :)

Shortly: It is Crescent, not Cresent or Crecent.

92320 was king model with Campagnolo and Your's
92319 use the same frame with Shimano parts.

There is short stories from this famous bike:

100 Kronor... 11 euros. You are lucky guy.

Bottom Bracket was french (full dead) 35 x 1 mm, and
Phil Wood is the shortly and expensive answer. (imho)

1970-80 Sven Gustafsson (early) or Lasse Berg (later)
has made Your's frame. - About 1000 frames / year.

Beautifull bicycle with fascinating toe-clips. (edit: toe-clips overlap)
Very beloved bike. - Very.

I own myself 92316 & 92318 (61 c-c) from 1991 with merckx style
century geometry. 92319 & 92320 were after 1985 actually
Merckx, and 92318 and 92316 were cheaper swedish made copy
of them. (even after 1990, and much stronger too... meaningfull,
if You are a really big guy)
Merckx and his designer Ugo DeRosa builds logical ends of
Crescent memorable race-bicycle family. Now days Crescent
race-bicycles are fake too, they are actually Bianchis.
In my opinion only swedish made bicycle are really Crescents.

Vikter= weights and means fork/frame/total.
92316: 0,90/2,70/12,2 (Tange 1,0 mm hi-tensile steel series)
92318: 0,80/2,20/11,0 (Ishiwata 022 double butted series)
92319: 0,70/2,05/9,7 (Columbus Cromor)
92320: 0,70/2,05/9,5 (Columbus SLX)

92319 & 92320 were both under magical 10 kilos.

Did I say, that they were very very beloved bikes ?

Your's 70' frame is full doublebutted Reynolds 531, (0,9-0,6-0,9)
and original swedish made.
It is made for seriously and enjoyable riding.

Please: Keep it gently. And use rustproof for it. (!!)

Hope this helps a little.

Tuure

-.-

Black is beautifull... but if You ask... Crescent from seventies
should be orange. imho. Like Bianchi should always be celeste.
Colours are trademarks to some manufacturers.

Horrible colours early 90 models came from professional team,
which were sponsored from PK Banken.

Looks like a very nice bike and an absolute bargain!

Did the Peterson brothers ride Crescent bikes when they were amateurs?

Interesting link to Merckx and DeRosa.
