Been searching for any info on Pacific and found this post . See pictures of my two frames and also my Super XT that was modified . At the time my father had dealings with a UK supplier so gave me the bikes / frames to see if I liked them . (This was circa 1991/1992)
Cheers

Thanks for posting this info.
Pacific Cycles XT found “in the wild” in Melbourne Australia. Probably an 89?
passed to a mate who is an enthusiast, but just thanking you for the info posted here.

This is a 1990.5 model. Updated paint scheme mid season, that was used on the 91 e-stay aluminium model that superseded it.

Just picked up a Pacific E stay Competition f+f in black with splatter paint. Al Mega seat tube sticker made me wonder.

Thanks for sharing! Always good to have more info on lesser known brands. Love looking at old brochures/catalogues! 😍👍

Particularly love the fillet brazed XT equipped 89 bike and there are similarities in their 1990 range with Alpinestars...

Pacific was the factory brand of the company that made Alpinestars' bikes. The 7 Comp / Competition model was essentially an Almega, and the Mtn Expert a Cromega.

There were other brands made by them but Alpinestars is the only significant one I can recall.

I did think that but hadn’t quite joined to dots. Like to try and use my old brain rather than revert to a Google search! Or wait for a reply from a fellow Retrobiker! 💪👌

This is fantastic. I have had my blue and white Pacific MTN XPert since about 1992, I bought it from a friend. I have always been impressed with it and the quality of the standard equipment that it has. It is still going strong and I'm really quite attached to it. I always thought this was a make that just popped up for a year or two and then disappeared but now I know more about it I like it even more.
