Pace...where's it all going?

Graham1975, you are pi$$in into the wind here.

The Ragley BP is a mint frame, and yours looks stunning. I would hardly kick it out of bed over a "gusset" !. My mate has an orange one with mid range spec which he built up for under 1k. Its ride, flex, geometry is superb with an idestructable feel to it. It is probably knocking on 30lb but with the Revelation 150s it sails through the roughest terrain. Correct me if I am wrong but does the RBP not exceed the current BE ENs and come with a long warranty ?, 5yrs ?. I also dont buy this sweatshop bolx, the taiwanese are the best bike frame builders, period and proven.

Ragley vs Cotic, both belters, but considering the Ragleys rave reviews, £200 !! cheaper than the Cotic and the fact I live 2 miles from Ragley Wood... my choice is obvious. The harsh comments do tend to come from people who buy a niche brand bike, take them to heart and immediatly develop a hatred for bikes of similar discipline.....

I agree, somewhat, with the on one comments, however a good steel frame for £135 ! delivered....hardly offensive, and surely all the main bike reviews cant be wrong.

Many people on here will not appreciate modern bikes for all sorts of reasons, I am 33 and totally appreciate them both, however I would not ever consider a totaly retro bike, inparticular the most overated sqaure tubed bike of all time from a riding perspective

The new Pace 104...not bad from where I am looking!

I appreciate modern bikes, I even own an 18lb carbon hardtail! I do hate heavy ugly bikes though, no matter how old! :)

Dude, that Ragly is fugly! What's happened to truley beautiful bikes? Steel bikes used to look skinny and slinky now these long travel piles are just horrid and from the amount I pass downhill they're not that great either! I do like the look of the steel Pace frames though, if only they weren't from the far east :-(

Simple, they fizzled out, as they were a pile of sh!te to ride ?, give me gussets, good quality steel, welds, cracking geometry anyday. I doubt you pass many people downhill with rigid forks, 40mm long bars, Vs and your ass 3 foot higher than your handlebars

You've never ridden with me have you  And I would think if those are yours views on old bikes you might be on the wrong site?

LOL so why are you bringing up your kaki carbon bike on here?? If you like beautifull bikes why you bought a carbon one, awefull looking all 1 piece pile of trash if you ask me,
The obvious mans choice i suppose, like caliswoodburner says not ever magazine and test can be wrong, RAGLEY BLUEPIG 1st in steel hardtail test in MBR 2 months ago
Why are you even bring up your bike anyway??? yours is for fast lightweight biking mine is for heavy duty hardcore riding and the weight helps when it comes to rocky techi downhill stuff, thats why downhill bikes are 40LB!!!!

Anyway why are we having this debate on modern bikes, as you say this is retrobikes, so why this topic??? its a modern Pace, but back to the original question 6 pages ago, yes i like the style but no i dont like the bike, and if Pace want to make good quality modern bikes let them whos to say they cant, at the end of the day it must ride better than the old ones, thats 1 thing thats guaranteed

Only brought the carbon bike up cos it was suggested some of us on here don't do modern, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that but to call stuff without seeing it is a bit off. I also have a steel singlespeed, old alloy Yeti, origional Kona Cinder Cone and used to race DH on a heavy full suspension monstrosity, if you can ride that bike as it's intended then fair enough but the riders Ive encountered in the main can't!
But I guess this has kind of gone off topic.....

You are really showing your ignorance now Graham. Of course your Taiwan wonder is better to ride than a 20 year old Pace. Just like a 2009 Focus is better to drive than a 1989 Escort. It doesn't mean that it's a great bike when measured against it's contempories. MJN, like myself, has owned many bikes past and present so has a good idea what he is talking about from real experience rather that what he has read on a website. And he probably would kick your arse up and down dale on a Raleigh Mustang.

You go enjoy your bike in Ragley Woods. That's all that matters. If you would like to venture out of your local woods and join us for a ride sometime we can trade bikes and compare notes.

PMSL

My cousin (Hebden born and bred) says that it's the Magic Mushroom capital of the world and everyone is off their tits. If you believe that you are ******* mad. Have a look at NAHBS if you want to see the best framebuilders in the world and open your bloody eyes.

I'm done with this thread, you are just all daft.
