PACE RC500 DH Bike

I thought I'd like to share a couple of photos of the bike I've just acquired....

The first photo proves, if proof is really needed, that retro bikes DO get used and aren't always just left to 'look pretty' on a wall or in a garage! :D

None at the moment. The bars are one of my favourite, the brakes would be great if they didn't bind and squeal (I haven't given it a service yet...) and the suspension seems to work just fine.

The only issue I did have on the very brief shake-down was the tyres; they don't seen to be able to cope well with West Wales mud...

Yes this was on ebay. The guy selling it is a proper retro biker and loved the bike but, as if often the case, the bike hadn't been used for many years, they were moving, he had lots of bikes, so something had to give...

He did say to offer it back to him if I ever decided to sell it but I can't see me selling either of my PACE bikes in the near or distant future; I've waited so long to get my hands on them!

Now all I need is a PACE 42:16 to ride to work when the woods are too soggy - like now - and a modern PACE full suspension bike for using and abusing...

As I keep telling my wife, there is no such thing as 'too many bikes...'

;)

That's lovely. I used to have a real thing for these. The local Pace dealer had one n and we used to admire it for ages. I remember it getting a pretty good review in MBI too.

Seems good but needs to be used on a proper long downhill course to be certain but I won't be doing that until I've serviced it...

It felt like riding on a feather bed compared to my other Pace! :)
