Pace RC39 vs RC40 components

A few years ago I was lucky enough to get a pair of nos Pace RC40 forks which I am very happy with but would like to reduce to 100mm travel as the RC39, can anyone confirm that the components are the same apart from the tubes and perhaps some internals making a conversion possible?
If the answer is yes I will contact Pace and see if the required parts are still available.

I think it's possible. I bought a set of rc41 forks that have much less travel than the set I already owned. Not had them apart to know how it was done (I was going to restore them to original travel). I know on rs forks, you can and add spacers to the shaft to reduce travel, I'd assume similar.
