Hi all,

I've just got myself a nice pair of Pace RC36s, grease gun included :)

Can anyone recommend some good grease for them? I would use the Pace stuff (RC7S?) but it seems to be about as rare as a WMD in Afghanistan :?

Thanks muchly :)

Ah yeah I remember that stuff - I used to use it all the time! Mostly because it was really good, and partly because it looked cool :)

I'll have a look and see if I can get some - Any idea of where I can pick some up?

Cheers

Silkolene RG2 is my choice. Comes in a big tub that will last you an age.

I second that , great for all types of bike uses !!

I recall back in the mid 90 s when MTB Pro mage reviewed it more highly than most of the bike specific greases !!

Ah that's the stuff!!! Thanks for that - I might see if I can find some in one of the big tubs they used to do it in first though :)

I have to say that Madison are distributing Silkolene to the bike trade and they only carry that small can. Try a motor factor or motorbike spares place for the big tub?

I use Manitou Prep M in my 36's and it seems pretty good. Although not as slick as the grease originally in the fork.

I've heard good things about Stendec Easy Glide but not tried it yet.

According to pace it needs to be really slick and not tacky, so if you rub it between your fingers it almost thins to oil... Prep M isn't like this by the way, but original grease in the fork was more so when I took them apart for the first time.
