Pace RC36 Forks

Although this is an anything-goes kind of website, may I just make the point that it is not period correct to fit cantis to an RC36.

V-brakes pre-date the RC36, and by the time the RC36 came out, only a very tiny die-hard minority would have thought cantis superior. If Pace designed the RC36 for V-brakes and not cantis, it is little wonder.
Fair points, but pace did make appropriate mounts should you choose to b an individual and not be a period correct geek. Personally I think v brakes work better, but if you want cantis, go for it, I've got bikes with both on, just because I wanted certain things from the builds not necessarily stopping power.

I spoke to Pace today and they said that you could not fit cantis to an RC36.

I do understand about period, but the forks were real nice and it doesn't hurt asking !!!

Now if only I could find a set of RC35s !!!

Pace are just plain wrong, I have an rc36 canti brace. It fits on the front of the fork so you have to swap the brake bosses over/round but that's it.

I'll try to find a pic of one in action.

So there is a big difference between the two forks then
Indeed there is, the number of bolts needed to fit the brace is just one of them. I'm no expert on the other differences though.
