Pace RC31s on a 99 Explosif?

I am considering putting a set of RC31s on my 99 Explosif. I already own a suitable set. I have some options and questions.

Questions:

- What would be the optimal crown to axle length for a rigid fork on the Explosif?

- Can you fit the canti post adapter to any RC31 or is there a specific model that takes them?

- Do you think the RC31 are a good choice for the Explosif or would P2s be a better option. (I have having a tough time finding some TB P2s with a long enough steerer (220mm )

Options I am considering:

1. Hang on for P2s

2. Fit the RC31s if I can find some canti adapters.

3. Go disc front wheel, either P2s or RC31s

4. The nuclear option, forget going rigid and find a suitable air fork but that's a whole new can of worms.

The picture shows the bike mocked up with some non TB P2s off my Fire Mountain, the steerer was too short and has an extender fitted that I am dubious about.

Other changes I will be making include a 952 XTR rear mech, a black synchros stem and seat post and different pedals, and tyres and saddle.

What do you want to use the bike for?
For touring and light offroading I would keep the P2. If you really want an air fork in that frame I would go for as low as possible, probably around 450mm a-c, otherwise the bike will not feel good anymore. But that's just my opinion.
How modern may the fork be?

Personally I would go for the RC's, not really a fan of the P2's from this era.
