Pace RC200: heart vs head

Thanks to an avid reader of the 'wanted' section, I'm now the proud owner of an RC200 F7 Team Edition - the limited edition red anodised one.

Without wishing to appear ungrateful, and having tried to love it, I realise that I should have held my nerve and waited for a polished one because in my minds eye I want to be riding a Pace that looks like neilll's polished F6 with the chrome rigid forks and fluo brakes or Jerky's AMAZING black/gold F5.

This is where I would appreciate some advice.

Should I consider getting mine stripped, and polished or reanodised silver, and build it up with all the yummy bits I'd like, or better pass it on to someone who will appreciate its redness, and keep an eye out for a polished frame (along with everyone else it seems!).

Thanks guys/gals
Adam

Yes, strip it, polish it, anodise it, whatever, but do it NOW. Make it what you want it to be.

Patience is boring - I have very little of it.

Dave.

Before you go to too much expense and effort why don't you put an ad up? Maybe someone with a silver one wouldn't mind a swap.

Agreed,
Its not like you are just removing decals off the frame, Im pretty sure its going to take you a fair bit of effort and time to get that "factory finish" all over, including the little hard to reach corners and stuff if you want perfection, as it sounds you do.

But,
You know that frame and know it fits? and has no damage or cracks or anything, you might not be so lucky with the next one

I hope my inability to make a decision prompts you to make yours

Gc

Sell it and wait for the polished one you are after - There maybe someone out there who has dreamed of a red frame and if you strip it, their dreams will be dashed!! if you sell, you make someone else very happy and karma will reward you with just the frame you are after....

....probably ;)

Pace's are pretty common to be honest, personally I would wait and find or swap for a 'plain' one rather than wrecking a Team Issue frame.

They come up for sale nearly every week on eBay and many have passed through here.

Mine is gunmetal ano by the way, not polished.

p.s Thanks for the Blog comments ;)

My thoughts too, but I'd prefer a red one...
