Man cave overload forces a reluctant sale of the old pace.
RC100 frame number 284 19" (more like an 18" rc200)
short story
Pace was bought new in 1991/2 (correct me if I’m wrong) by my uncle,
he rode is for a good few years and passed to me around '95. eventually the bullseye spline gave up and the frame got shelved deep in my parents shed, and replaced with an orange E3 '97.
The frame was left untouched until 2009, when i found it one weekend, and decided to restore it.
I got new cranks and bearing from the states, and had them machined to suit the 22mm bb, had the frame resprayed and replica stickers made at mercian cycles. had some new but period looking wheels made and rode her all round the south for the best part of a year.
The frame had some gashes where the chain suck had cut the chainstay, and a nasty crack appeared.
i had the crack welded and a small re-enforcement plate added, by hughie who restores and runs old F1 cars. (he knows what he's doing with aluminium)
by the time it was ready i had a replacement kona that i would much rather abuse, and the pace has sat on the wall looking pretty ever since.
I would like to see it go to someone who will give it some TLC rather than wanting masses of cash for it.
so the deal is.
£300 for the frame, bullseyes, magura brakes, seatpost, 3 rc30 crowns (one black two silver), rc30 legs, rc35 legs (all working with fresh elastomers but no brake mount), unbranded seatpost and headset (not original), ringle seatclamp, o/e front mech (suntour), o/e saddle (turbo)
other varoius bits, pace chainrings ect included
No offers or splits, think the price is right.
Pick up in Brighton, or post at extra cost.
Please come and view her in the man cave any time (and take the missus for a day out in Brighton too)
pictures are what i have at work are a bit out of date, will do much more detailed pics later as required..
let me know if you are interested or want any more details..
