Pace Evo II - Travel?

Hi all, looking to buy some Pace RC36 EVO 2's to replace the RC35 MXCD's on the missus 14.5" 1998 Zaskar. Travel wise, are they suitable? I assumed the 1998 Zaskar was corrected for either 63 or 80mm travel but I'm not sure which, and with it being such a small frame would that make a difference? Thanks

MXCD's are 50mm and EVO II's are 90mm (I think!), your MXCD's are already 'short' for a 1998 frame.

i had some evoIIs the travel is adjustable, 90mm is the max but i cant remeber if the lower setting was 65 or 70mm

iirc its just a case of dropping the lowers off, knocking out a rolled pin and moving a spring and a washer.

hope this is some help

I'm pretty sure my Evo 2's can be switched between 80 and 100mm. I'll dig out the manual tonight if i remember.

Used to have them on a '99 Zasker and they were fine

Evo2 and Evo3 travel was factory set at 90mm and was adjustable by moving the supplementary spring and clipping some white plastic guides into it to provide 70mm travel. This also shortened the fork by 20mm too.

Realistically the travel was more like 85mm or 65mm-unless the bottom outs were knackered!

Check those magnesium bridges are in good nick with no cracks btw ;)
