Aah, hmmm…….you’ve got me there, I’m not sure, might have to reference some catalogues and magazines to answer that, there is no date info on the original instruction sheet. And 7 years later... @justbackdated, what year the RC-50 MT Lock above entered the market: 1993 or 1994?
Yes, one hole is threaded for bolts, other is plain for QR shaft, so yes, off centre either way but the ovalised axle end slots into dropout with whichever fixing method set deepest into dropout.BTW, how does the locking of the MT Lock flavour work? Is it just putting bolts or a QR skewer in one of the two axle shafts? Does it mean that the locking "device" (being bolts or QR skewer) is then off-centered?
Thanks Tim for the detailed explanation, I wasn't aware that one shaft was threaded for bolts. Are there any recommendation regarding the location of the then chosen locking mechanism? I mean, is it better to install it in the "upper" or "lower" shaft once installed in the fork dropouts?Yes, one hole is threaded for bolts, other is plain for QR shaft, so yes, off centre either way but the ovalised axle end slots into dropout with whichever fixing method set deepest into dropout.
