Re:

Got a 1 inch to 1 1/4 you could turn down to 1 1/8.

Re:

ishaw, am I right in thinking that shim will allow a set of pace forks with a 1" 1/4 crown to use a 1" steerer? I have a set of RC35 on an orange with a 1 1/4 head tube and want to use them on a roberts with a 1" head tube. I have the steerer.

Re:

They'd be spot on for the orange dude, ishaw it's be a shame to machine these down if someone else can use them as they are :)

That's correct, shims down a 1 1/4 pace crown to allow the use of a 1 inch steerer.

You know I successfully used a seatpost shim, 28.6 down to 25.4 from sjs. Cut it down, put it in upside down, not had a problem. Required a little filing to the lip round the top to get it under the crown (the lip does the job the pace circlip used to in stopping it pulling up, albeit you should then still have a circlip on the steerer too. Was about a fiver....
