Pre Mayhem re build / tinker

I never was happy with the faceless bottom bracket, so set about sourcing a replacement that had a bit more bling factor,

So when a rather dog eared and worn out Grafton Speedcase came up on ebay, that I have to say was a tad tatty (to say the least) I pulled the trigger knowing Chris at Intincycles could pull off some magic on it and make it sparkle again

After cleaning up the lock rings with a needle file to remove the burrs and 800/1200 carbide paper to chase out the scratches I sent it off to Chris (Rampage on here) at Intrincycles
Although a totally pointless exercise, as you’ll never see them behind the crank caps I replaced the crank bolts with some appropriately coloured SRP offerings… which made a gumpy old man happy

I’ll let the pictures do the talking,

Chris …You’re the Man ! the King or Anno Bling and also a very cool tool maker...check it out !

Very nice, great eye for detail!
Polished and purple look great together.
How does ot ride?

Its one of my favorite riders, design wise this model was at the tail end of e-stay devolvement it has
benefited from the experience of all those who went before, and is over engineered in places prone to cracking and the replaceable drop outs add further to its utility

naturally Bigfoots/Smokestones/Ozones estays never sold in the same numbers as Alpinestars, but I've never seen one cracked, and I ride it places I'd dare not take the Yeti or Manitou

I'd love to say it climbs like a bad ass but since the legs aren't what they used to be....
