I bought this off a guy on Facebook. He bought it from a recycle centre for the grand sum of £7
But he didn't have a clue what he bought. As soon as I saw the bullmoose bar I looked a bit closer and it has full deerhead brakes & gears etc. and with the lugged frame it instantly drew my attention.
I do know it was repainted green and from the photo's it looks like it was red.
Some people have said it is either an early diamond back or Saracen.
But I have never seen cable guides which go over the bottom bracket before.
Can anyone give me an definite answer to what I have ?
Hopefully I will be taking delivery of it today thanks to ovlov440.
I will post some better pics once I get it.
I am also hopefull the seatpost isn't stuck.
Jeff.

Re:

Looks similar to the old Ridgeback that Rampage picked up a few weeks ago....

........runs off to search for thread

Re: What bike is this ?

I'd check early Stumpjumpers first. I have a Diamondback of around that vintage and it has much fancier lugs than that and it came equipped with Suntour Mountech which required a direct pull braze on on the drive side chain stay.

Re:

i am now thinking this may be a very early stumpjumper.
i got this pic from another thread for an early stumpjumper.
whatever it is, i am looking forward to restoring this to its former glory.

Boomshanka!

The Guv's former Overbury's Crossfell is an instant match right down to those cable guides at the head tube

Re: What bike is this ?

But then the green bike has wrap around stays... But Overbury's is a good contender so far.

And by 1985 the stumpjumper looked like

and the 1984
