Apparently they were filing round the steerer as there was some paint build up and they didn't want to split the crown race and they slipped with the file, sent the pic to my painter he says it's not a problem and it can be fixed, the LBS are going to cover any cost.

Can't deny I'm not gutted!
But it could have been so much worse, just have to take it apart and get it over to him, hopefully shouldn't be there too long!

Mechs -- mechanics !
And Noble is the surname of one of the founders of orange bikes!

Then again my wife says I'm getting a bit nerdy !

But accidents happen, you have renewed its life and new patna has to start somewhere, where better than on a stand being re-assembled.

Picked up a seven speed gripshift this morning, fitted the levers and shifters to the bars to see how they will look and if they will work.
Similar set up to my modern bike so should work well, just got to sort out the outers.
