other good places to buy road parts

The Bikeradar forum (www.bikeradar.com) is quite a good place to look for non-retro stuff, I've bought (and indeed sold) some bargains through there; I seem to recall doing quite well with the Campag Centaur Ergo levers that are now on the cross bike. RB still seems to be the best place for retro kit though [1].

[1] No, really. Not just saying that in order to keep in the forum mods' good books. ;)

Condor bikes in London. Always had a pleasent experience buying from them and i would recommend. If they don't have what you are looking for on their web site then they are worth a phone call and ask if they might have the component you are looking for in their warehouse! I got lucky when i phoned them as they had a Dura-Ace 7850 rear hub which was not advertised on their web site. A rare find!

I have got some stunningly good bargains at car boot sales - about a month ago I bought a shimano 105/600 equipped 531-framed Raleigh for £20. My best find was a pair of 32h Campagnolo Record hubs AND Nuovo Record derailer, found in the bottom of a cardboard box full of bike bits, bought for... wait for it... £1!
