Retro Newbie
Hi selling my white framed vented violet iridium eyeshades in new old stock condition with all accessories included, i've only ever tried them on once and then they've been sat on my shelf as I have several other that I bought in used condition so didn't want to spoil these.
£200 postage included paypal gift.

Ok will take that on board then and drop the price once more to £160. Ebay is now flooded with those fake reissues, but if i get no offers now i'll just take them with me to Taiwan and use on those hot humid climbs i love where my non vented eyeshades are unwearable.

For the benefit of the poorly informed, can I ask what to look for when determining whether Eyeshade's are fakes or not?

I'd also like to know that - the reissued anniversary 'Heritage eyeshades' are pretty cheap anyway (Oakley's website is selling a basic model for under $80) and the ebay sellers in the US who have them all seem to offer a guarantee on authenticity. Haven't seen any Eyeshades that look likely to be fakes myself.

That said, the OP's Eyeshades are indeed very lovely and not comparable to the reissues, though I would agree with colnagolover that they might be best off on ebay. Thanks for showing them to us.

Re:

yeah, i think that i must have bought the chinese ones as they feel really "plasticky" and dig into my lugs, whereas my old red originals are not/ do not!!

in short, there would appear to be a real difference between either the genuine oakley replicas or the chinese cheapies . .

Hi Craig,

Forgot to tell you - the shades you bought from me a couple of years ago were genuine South Korean - I should've asked double the price you got 'em for :D

Re:

ha haaa!! now, i know you're fibbing - the frames on your ones are a softer plastic and the way i remember them back in the 80s.

the frames on the white ones i bought from ebay usa  are a nasty rigid plastic, although all the bumph that came with them seems very genuine. who knows. are oakley making cheap copies of our favourite goggles now??

i notice that the side of the oakley box says "assembled in USA" - i think we know what that means!

Probably - just to cash in on the older generation's veneration for times past and "assembled in the USA" is just there to try and justify a price which only Yanks will consider reasonable (viz. the prices they expect for NOS bits and pieces on Ebay) and which all us ordinary folk would classify as exorbitant.

Glad to see that my old red ones are now enhancing your avatar ;)

Cheers
Steve
