Original bikes will soon be a thing of the past....

I think it's been covered fairly well already, but anything that would have special value for being original and complete is probably the least likely to have been owned originally by someone who would want to keep it original.

Those bikes that turn up in original spec are usually the bikes that I can't understand why you'd want to restore or collect them, they were bloody horrible to ride when they were new, 25 years in someone's shed hasn't improved them. Unless you wear ride tinted glasses all the time.

A 20 year old handbuilt Ritchey or Klein with a mish mash of upgraded, replaced, modified and used (abused?) parts is far "nicer". Both to ride and own. Than a bottom end pig iron frame with rubbish, but original kit.

You wouldn't collect on ones would you?
