I put my old one together for significantly less than £1000. Whole bikes usually cost less than building from individual components (which is essentially what I did). Alas, the issue is availability. Judging by recent asking prices, I sold mine too cheap!

I won a really nice original T2 on ebay last year for under £500

unfortunately the deal never happened. It turns out that the woman's ex partner saw she was selling it and wouldn;t give it back. He even tried selling it on here!
