A thought crossed my mind this afternoon whilst watching 'Le Tour' (quiet apart from thinking 'poor George, missing the jersey by 5 seconds!!)
There were advertising boards for Orange (mobile phone network) at the finish
So, was there any 'hoo-ha'/court-cases between the telecoms firm & Lester Noble at any point????
I'm curious as 'LN' was using the name years ago when he used to produce windsurf sails, in conjunction with his (surfing) buddy Paul Morphet.................. who cut/sewed them up in a little loft above a garage(??) on Granby Terrace(?), in Headingly (Leeds)
Paul, then took a few bikes off Lester when he started out producing them.
I remember first going in there when Paul perhaps had 4 bikes in, & they were fighting for space with rolls of nylon fabric :roll:
They eventually edged out the windsurfers & the shop eventually became................. very, very, well known indeed (before moving into bigger premises)
