orange SK 8 stem?

i have an orange SK 8 stem that came with my P7.
a quick google came up with nothing. NOTHING!
it has stamped on the steerer part "alic" and "crmo".

can anyone provide some information on it?
is it worth keeping what was the original finish like? polished or matt? etc.

One on my C16R is matt finish - like yours. One on my polished P7 is......polished.
SK8 - its a stem. It works. I suppose its quite light but never having weighed one........

185 g without wedge or bolt.....in 135mm.

so polished it is!

Pretty standard equipment. Seem to recall they appear in 94/95. I actually quite like them, and run one, they're neatly put together 1 inch cromo stems.

I have an matt SK8 like yours on my 94 P7 & it suits the frames looks IMO. I think it works with the nickel finish better than a polished one.

If you change yours I'd be tempted to take it off your hands as it looks a bit better than mine (decals rubbing off) and especially if it's a little shorter than my existing one.
