Orange seat post bolt.

OK,
I have been scared by a few posts on here warning me not to use a QR on my clockwork.
I need a barrel bolt?
This is my clamp, is this a barrel bolt?
One side is a nut, the other is a collar which has a round allen head bolt head in.

Aha!...This had me puzzled too, Timely thread. Thank you.

I'm after one of these for the gfriends Orange Prestige. Shiny Silver it has to be. Last few bits I need. ;)

Nice. Ordered that one... Who says romance is dead when you can gift wrap a seat bolt & present it as a gift to your girl and you know she WILL be pleased!

 That'll teach me to get my wallet out in haste..I need the Campy one mentioned below. I did note the 'tab' slot on the frame too.

I've got one of these on both my C-16 and Vit-T2

They came with them from new (at least the C-16 did as I was the first owner). They've a little tab on one side that goes into a corresponding slot in the bolt hole on the frame. Because they screw into one-another there's less chance of them bending like a regular nut and bolt does.

That looks neater than mine. Are you saying your C16 came with that as standard?
Maybe I should email Orange and ask to buy one of those....

This was mentioned in another thread, and I'm not sure the one in the first photo is correct. The second one is what I have just received from st John street cycles - a campagnolo seat pin.

Now I have it I can see how it works - there is a none-threaded bit on either side that fits snugly in the holes of the seat clamp. Instead of exerting force from just the outside and bending the clamp inwards, it encourages a parallel drawing together of the two sides. The internal, snug-fitting threadless bits don't allow pivoting.

Just my observations. Sjs was the only place that had them - about 9 quid.

You can get the bolt I mentioned from a number of sellers on eBay. There's different lengths and diameters so measure your existing set up carefully beforehand. Anything from £2 if you can find the right place.

The campy bolts are similar to these so I suppose it's down to your budget.

I've had a Ti QR seat post clamp on my 94 clockwork for 18 years.
